Lyric Week – Day 8 – Beirut "A Sunday Smile"

Hey ho people!

So… the last day of our Lyric week, we hope you enjoyed it! We’ve post a great variety of genres and song lyrics’ themes… and to finish it charming, I’ve chosen “A Sunday Smile” from the band Beirut.

All I want is the best for our lives my dear,
And you know my wishes are sincere.
What’s to say for the days I cannot bear

A Sunday smile you wore it for a while.

A cemetery mile we paused and sang.

A Sunday smile you wore it for a while.

A cemetery mile we paused and sang.

A Sunday smile and we felt true. (and)

We burnt to the ground

Left a view to admire

With buildings inside church of white.

We burnt to the ground left a grave to admire.

And as we reach for the sky, reach the church of white.

A Sunday smile you wore it for a while.

A cemetery mile we paused and sang.

A Sunday smile you wore it for a while.

A cemetery mile we paused and sang.
A Sunday smile and we felt true. (and)

This song is from the album “The Flying Club Cup” (2007). There’s a happy and sad mood on every of their songs, maybe the singer (Zach Condon) voice tone and the high orchestral melodies… All in all, today is Sunday and we’re here. Let’s make it count! 🙂
